As for the stromwater system, it has been transferred in the river Tisa by means of reclamation canals through suction stations. Up to now, only 19 ,5 km has been piped, so that 60% of the total length of atmospheric sewerage system has not been piped.
Current problems
- complete construction area has not been comprised by the preliminary design
- the current way of the transfer of storm water in some parts of the town by means of open street canals (most often self-absorbing ditches) causes the water to sink underground and the level of subterranean water to rise). Due to the falling behind of the construction of sewerage system and stormwater network, great amounts of the consumed waters are stored into the surface terrain levels which becomes saturated and causes the rise of the level of subterranean waters, has a harmful effect on the building objects and contaminates the underground.
- About 78% of piped stormwater network has not been built
Elements of development
- continuation of the construction of stormwater network
- rebuilding of open canals in Donji park
- construction of the network in order to divide storm water from sewage
